CalyCanto Casitas Construction
The chronology of the construction of the CalyCanto Casitas. Sweat, blood and tears went into this project. Fortunately or unfortunately, in that order. However, it was all worth while as we now have something we'll all cherish and enjoy for many years to come! The term "Cal y Canto" technically means calcium and stone, bricks and mortar or limestone and song. The expression has taking on a secondary meaning in the Spanish language as perhaps has been best captured in a book of poetry under the name “Cal Y Canto” by Rafael Alberti. Playing off the secondary meaning associated with the expression, Alberti used colors and texture to evoke strong feelings. The phrase has come to symbolize “Form and Passion” or "Limestone and Song" as has the project to all of its founders.
